Women need HIV prevention options made specifically for them. Get paid to help test a vaginal ring for the prevention of HIV infection. Volunteers can receive up to $250 per visit. You may be eligible if you are HIV negative, between the ages of 18 to 45, and were assigned female sex at birth.
We are currently enrolling for MTN-038:
MTN 038 is testing a vaginal ring containing the anti-HIV medication Tenofivir and comparing it to a placebo ring.
Vaginal rings that slowly release HIV medication over weeks or months (like contraceptive rings) could be an effective alternative to oral PrEP or vaginal gels. The main purposes of this research study are to find out how the study drug is absorbed and processed by the body, to better understand the safety of the study drug, and to access how comfortable it is to use. Information from the study will be used to help develop vaginal rings in the future, including combination rings that could be used to prevent both pregnancy and HIV.
The study will enroll people, 18 to 45 years old, who were assigned female sex at birth. Participation will consist wearing a vaginal ring for the course of about 3 months with active follow-up visits.
Send us an email using the form below and we’ll ring you back to see if you’re eligible for the study. It’s that simple!
