THE PREPARE STUDY
The PREPARE study is testing whether a common HIV drug can safely prevent HIV-negative gay/bi men from getting infected.
PREPARE is part of a global effort. Here in San Francisco, it
is being conducted by the HIV Research Section in the SF Department
of Public Health. Other research sites are located in Boston, USA,
Lima and Iquitos, Peru, Guayaquil, Ecuador, Sao Paulo and Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil, Cape Town, South Africa,
and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
