VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. SUPPORTERS ARE TOO.

The HIV Research Section has a single focus -- to conduct innovative, ethical research that can have the biggest impact on stopping the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Currently, we are enrolling HIV negative men who have sex with men into a new prevention study called PREPARE. The purpose of this study is to find out if Truvada®, a medication used for the treatment of HIV infection, can be taken safely by HIV-negative gay/bi men and whether it can lower the chance of getting infected with HIV.

We investigate medical approaches to stop the spread of the disease. Breakthroughs will most likely come in stages -- like what's happening with treatments for people who are HIV positive.
